Netherby Hall, at Longtown in Cumbria is an outstanding Grade II mansion house which was first listed in 1957. It is steeped in history from Roman times through to the modern day. The house stands in 36 acres of parklands with extensive lawns, a Victorian pleasure garden and a walled garden covering just over an acre. The property is now being developed by Gerald and Margo Smith, who hope to encourage visitors to the area through hosting concerts, open days and provide holiday let cottages.
